Family of murder victim makes plea to public for help

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - It's a crime that his family calls senseless.

Anthony Beaumont Junior, 31, died yesterday after being shot multiple times outside Northpoint Lexington Healthcare Center on Trent Boulevard around 2:30 Tuesday afternoon.

While Lexington Police continues the search for the person who pulled the trigger, Beaumont's family is asking for someone to help put that person behind bars.

"We are pleading for the public's help," the victim's father, Anthony Beaumont Senior said. "If you know anything about my son's death, please call police."

Beaumont Sr. says friends and family know his son as Tony. The Lafayette High School graduate leaves behind one son, three daughters, and one step-daughter.

"He was a really good father, he loved his kids," said Kat Redden. Tony Beaumont Jr. is the father of Redden's nine-year-old daughter, Anija. She said breaking the news to her daughter was easily one of the hardest things she's ever had to do.

"It was extremely difficult, I didn't know how she would handle the fact her daddy isn't coming back," she said.

Police said it started as a meeting between three people in the parking lot of the Lexington nursing home, but police say shots were fired.

"They were meeting to have a discussion, the discussion didn't go so well," explained Lt. Scott Blakely.

Lt. Blakely said he didn't have a good description of the shooter, but that the man fled in a vehicle with other people.

"We need to find this person, but son didn't deserve to die like this," Beaumont Sr. said. "Again, we are just asking for the shooter to either turn himself in, or if anyone knows his whearabouts, please call police."

Funeral arrangements for Tony Junior are still pending.
